How do you see Twitch’s approach to gambling? Are these measures effective, or do they create loopholes? Have they influenced gambling content on other platforms?

As far as I know, there are a lot of people who like just to watch someone playing card games or roulette.

So I see nothing bad in watching similar games' stream on twitch. In my opinion later when you play yourself, you feel more calm as it looks more familiar.

Oh, I see. Makes sense; I automatically considered streaming as a slot event. My bad. 🙂

I completely agree that unauthorized casinos should not be allowed to be streamed.

Additionally, even for licensed casinos, it would have been great if streamers consistently reminded viewers of responsible gaming practices.

Since I saw a post on LinkedIn written by a so-called streamer about how she works not more than 4 hours a day, gets tons of money - also for playing???, so she can afford anything she wants, spending her time traveling across the globe, I back then lost all the hope.

Perhaps my opinion on this aspect of the gambling industry is profane, but I think it is safe to say that I simply do not like any influencing practices.

In today's reality there are "people watching others playing video games", and even "people watching other people watching someone playing videogames".

So watching someone spinning slots on Twitch would be... interesting.

Especially when someone drastically win or lose. It will definitely make a reaction!

Definitely, that's why I'm so eager to understand the nature of the Twitch regulations. Well, that was my original question about.

For example, most of the people I have met do not watch streamers to just overcome the passion for gambling; they need to feel they can win too. Also, for far too many kids, this has become a gateway. Most of the streams I come across are pretty close to influencers rather than "I'm streaming for fun."

I want to draw a comparison between real estate agents and streamers. Even though real estate is a "craft" that is solely focused on handling profitable deals, anyone could become a real estate agent in the recent past. The moral aspects were on each individual; legal liability was quite low, simply put.

As a senior agent, my father attended many interviews with candidates hoping to work in his office. Most of those individuals had a very clear and dishonest motivation.

These days, each agent is held legally and personally responsible for following the law and must pass a national degree exam. Basically, full consequences.

Call me a pessimist, but this world is filled with instant joy that is broadcast on many different channels, but reality sets in when things get out of control and the glitter goes down. 😀

My own experience (ok, one of 🙂) is different mobile gotcha-games (not naming them, but there are few very famous which stay in the top list for years). And one of the gambling principles there - is opening the shards with the chance of getting high-rank heroes (a chance of 6%, 1%, 0.5% etc), and while you can get those shards within the gameplay (just a few here and there), you still can buy lots of them for the real money (similar to spins and other mechanics). Yeah-yeah I'm a Captain as you all know that without me telling 🙂

But. Why I'm telling this - even those who don't spend and cannot afford pulling many-many shards for those heroes - they watch YouTubers, TikTokers and Twitchers doing it because it's the way to forget for a couple of minutes that it's not them, but you. It's you, gambling over your destiny and trying your luck.

Sometimes those streams make people go and do that themselves, sometimes not.

But we cannot deny that it takes a big effect definitely.
